Our Camping Trip

No, that wasn't a typo. We did actually go camping. I tried to get some pictures of James in the tent as proof, but he got mad anytime I got near him with a camera. I did, however, get a few shots of him in the great outdoors (they aren't the best pictures because I was trying to be sly and act like I was taking a picture of something else).I think the only reason I was able to talk James into going was because almost all of our friends would be camping also. There was about 40 other people that we went camping with. We had a wonderful, relaxing time. It was nice to sit around the campfire and just talk. We brought Echo along with us. She did great and loved being outside. She had tons of kids to play and run with.

I would like to hope we won't wait another 6 years to go camping, but we will have to see. I asked James why he hates to camp so much and he told me because he hates to prepare for it. I thought this was funny considering the only thing he had to do was put the ice chest in the car. He has no idea what preparing for a camping trip really means.

Guys don't have to do anywhere near as much work as us girls do. Who has to plan the menu? Go grocery shopping? Pack all the food?

We would never go camping if I didn't plan them so far in advance and set a date myself. I am already planning one for Oct!

I'm jealous. We can't wait to go camping. Dan loves it because that's what he grew up doing. We like to go for a week and the kids love becoming one with nature.
I'm lucky! Dan helps a ton with getting ready for a camping trip. He's a pro at it.

Sounds like fun! I love camping, but it is a bit nicer with a camping trailer. =) We went to the Sequoias this week and it was so fun and pretty. I love the out doors! We stayed at a lodge though. No camping this time. =)

Look at James... He's king of the rock!!He he! Looks like you guys had fun. We are hoping to maybe get in one camping trip before summer ends. The girls get to go to girls camp in 2 weeks, then Jessie gets to go to another girls camp the next week. She should be a seasoned pro by then! Enjoy the rest of your summer!

So true that the men get off easy, the food prep is the hardest and that always seems to fall on us, doesn't it? I would way rather get the tent and bedding and chairs, etc. all packed up!

Hi Kresta, I just found your blog it looks like you have already found mine. I must be the slacker. When reading your blog it made me think of my husband who hates camping. He doesn't say that it is because of the work but because of the fact that he doesn't want to be dirty or sleep on the ground.
